Casanuova delle Cerbaie Brunello di Montalcino 2008 Magnum
Opens with dried cherry, blood orange, tobacco, cedar, leather, and forest floor, with mature, layered aromatics.  On the palate, it feels graceful with evolved red fruit, earthy spice, bright acidity, and a long, spiced classic Sangio finish.

Key Details:

Producer: Casanuova delle Cerbaie — a small Brunello producer in Montalcino known for traditional, Sangiovese-driven wines with a clear sense of place and structure.

Region / Appellation: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy.

Varietal: 100% Sangiovese. Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is made from Sangiovese by law.

Vintage: 2008

Format: Magnum (1.5L)

Style / ABV: Dry red wine. At this stage, the wine is best understood through its mature profile: lifted tertiary notes, developed savory character, and the bright acidity that gives Brunello its longevity. The 2008 Brunello vintage in Montalcino is generally rated very good to excellent, with structure and aging ability.

Why It’s Special: A 2008 Brunello in magnum is very much in the sweet spot for lovers of fully evolved Sangiovese. The larger format helps the wine age more slowly and gracefully, so you get all that beautiful maturity — dried fruit, tobacco, cedar, earth — while still holding onto freshness.

Food Pairing: Ideal for a group, or celebration with lots of Italian-esk dishes.
