Green apple and ripe citrus with chalky minerality and a little struck-match reduction, taut and energetic, with a salty finish. Domaine Rougeot is a Meursault family estate, and when Pierre-Henri Rougeot took over in 2016 he turned the place on its head, moving away from volume and toward biodynamic farming and low-sulfur winemaking. They’ve been certified organic since 2020. La Monatine comes from vineyards around Meursault and ages in the domaine’s 18th-century cellars, with no lees stirring and nothing fined or filtered. Village-level energy at a Bourgogne price.
