Martha Stoumen Post Flirtation White 2023
Fresh, aromatic, and full of California sunshine, this lively white blend opens with lemon zest, grapefruit pith, white peach, kiwi, fresh herbs, and a faint salty breeze that gives the wine an easy, bright energy. On the palate, it is crisp and textured with citrus, orchard fruit, gentle floral notes, and a clean mineral finish that makes it especially lovely with oysters.

Key Details:

Producer: Martha Stoumen — a California winemaker known for organically farmed, small-production wines made with a thoughtful, low-intervention approach. Her work centers on vineyards farmed without pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers, and the Post Flirtation wines are meant to be joyful, vibrant, and highly drinkable while still expressing place.

Region / Appellation: California, USA. For the 2023 Post Flirtation White, the core fruit comes from Cecchini Family Vineyard in Knightsen, Contra Costa County, with a splash of old-vine Colombard from Ricetti Vineyard in Redwood Valley, Mendocino County.

Varietal: 40% Roussanne, 28% Marsanne, 24% Muscat Blanc, and 9% Colombard.

Vintage: 2023.

Style / ABV: Dry white blend; 11% ABV. Muscat Blanc and Roussanne were harvested first, followed by Marsanne, with brief skin contact before pressing; the Colombard was pressed immediately and fermented separately in stainless steel before blending.

Why It’s Special: This wine is special because it captures the easy, sunlit spirit Martha Stoumen built the Post Flirtation line around: delicious, expressive wines with freshness and personality. The fruit from windy, sandy-soiled Contra Costa County brings a bright, slightly salty Mediterranean feel, while the old-vine Colombard adds lift and complexity to the blend.

Food Pairing: Excellent with oysters, grilled shrimp, crudités with aioli, citrusy salads, fresh chèvre, or simply as an aperitif. Its citrusy brightness, floral lift, and mineral edge make it a natural fit for fresh, sunny, shareable dishes.
